The Adaptive Executive Embraces Reality

As Adaptive Executives we do not wait for the perfect conditions, we adapt to the existing reality. When we don’t like our reality, we adapt too. I am not saying that we need to accept reality as immutable, but that in order to change reality we need to first recognize its existence. Idealistic goals alone are not plans, as they focus exclusively on what we would like to see, but they fail to consider what it is, right here, right now. Only after we have accepted reality, we can imagine a better version of it, the one that we would like to live in. Only then we can create a plan to take us from where we are to where we want to be.
