The Adaptive Executive Embraces Change

To be effective we embrace reality, but reality does not stand still. Heraclitus noticed that change is the only constant. In order to embrace reality at all times we need to embrace the constant flow of change that it is. Embracing change is not just accepting it exists, but also accepting we also are a changing reality ourselves.

We do not have to be passive spectators of change, instead we can initiate and influence personal and external changes. We can also try and alter the course of the waterway, aiming the change towards the future we want. We ought to remember the river of change has a natural course, and hence not all changes require the same effort to produce. Some require more than we can do, and we need others to help. Some other changes may be simply too much even for a large and willing team.

As Adaptive Executives we accept the constant change around us, we initiate our own personal change and we foster the change produced by others, trying to harness all change towards better.
